Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. We are a busy practice but will do our best to get your pet in as soon as we can.

Emergency & Urgent Care

Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency. Our doctors each have 30+ years of experience and can handle most emergencies. If too many emergencies occur at once, we are only a few miles from another emergency clinic, and will refer to them if needed.

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty six days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

List of All Services:

Preventive medicine:

Probably the most important! Vaccines and up to date heartworm prevention can help your pet avoid many illnesses.

Dentistry:

If it smells that bad, it's time for a cleaning. Roxy Ann Veterinary Hospital provides cleaning, scaling, polishing, extractions, and prophylaxis.

Radiology:

(Digital X-rays) - A reliable way to look inside the body.

Ultrasound:

- another way to look at inside details of the body

Endoscopy:

- a long flexible scope/tube to look inside

Laboratory Tests:

Blood tests, urinalysis, fecal parasites, specific viral tests, heartworm tests, etc.

We have an in-house lab for most of your needs. If we are not able to provide a test we courier to specialty labs for quick and accurate results.

Surgery:

The hospital performs simple fixes and complex procedures such as...

Spays, neuters, broken bones pinned and/or wired, caesarean sections, hip surgery, knee surgeries, eye surgery, ear cropping, tail docking, declawing, anal gland removal, dew claw removal and many other soft tissue and reconstructive surgeries. We will do everything possible to help your pet, and if we don't do a particular procedure we will refer you to a specialist we trust.

Fertility:

This is usually for show animals or specific breeds that have trouble breeding.

Ovulation testing, artificial insemination, A.I.with frozen, A.I. with chilled, A.I. direct collection and A.I. surgical insemination, caesarean timing testing.

Internal medicine:

Managing/treating diarrhea, vomiting, chronic weight loss or gain, parvo, salmon disease, parasites, diabetes, Cushings, Addisons, autoimmune, thyroid, kidney failure, liver disease, poisoning, allergies, etc.. Again we do what we need to help you and your pet and consider every approach. In this world of veterinary specialists and alternative medicine options we will not hesitate to refer to such specialists if standard treatments are not working.

Grooming:

We don't groom for show. We only groom problem cases, severely matted animals, animals that require anesthesia to groom, foxtail feet clipped, hotspots clipped, fly blown rear ends shaved, etc.

We also do toe nail cutting and anal gland expressing for any and all, even if they need anesthesia to do it.

Boarding:

Ideally we prefer treating without lengthy hospitalization but do what is necessary. We have isolation facilities to quarantine sick animals. We prefer to not have healthy animals stay for any long period in a hospital facility. The same might apply for a human.

We board animals with special medical needs or for clients with emergency situations.

Special services:

House calls can be scheduled. Our most common house call is for stress free euthanasia at home.

Car calls also reduce stress. You come to our clinic and we come out to your car to examine, give vaccines, tranquillize, etc.
